Student from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School on Short-Term Study Program at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Fukui

On July 3rd, Ms. Munachiso Kay Asimama-Duruaku, a student from the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in the U.S. started the short-term study program organized by the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), University of Fukui (UF). This program has been carried out based on an Academic Agreement between RWJMS and UF. This program includes seminar about Family Medicine, and Primary Health Care.

Ms. Munachiso, a 1st year student of RWJMS is currently studying Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Primary Health Care, and Genome Science and Microbiology at UF.

On July 11th, Ms. Munachiso visited Prof. FUJIEDA Shigeharu, Dean of the FMS and had a talk with Prof. HAYASHI Hiroyuki of the FMS and Prof. SADA Kiyonao, Associate Dean in charge of international exchange at the FMS.

“I am aiming to learn better health care treatments through the understanding of the diversity. And I’m so impressed with fully functional facilities of the University of Fukui Hospital.” Ms. Munachiso said.

Dean FUJIEDA said “I hope that Ms. Munachiso will experience and understand Japanese culture as well as medical science here, and visit Fukui again with her friends in the future.”

This short-term study program will last until July 23rd.
