The University of Fukui 語学センター (LC) is at the epicenter of the reform of the English language curriculum for mainly first- and second-year students. Beginning in April 2013, the LC upgraded the first-year English curriculum for engineering students in line with its objectives for the MEXT Global 30+ program it was selected to implement. Facilities include the Global Hub, a uniquely designed space for language activities, and the Language Development Center (LDC), a state-of-the-art high-tech, multi-functional self-access center for language learning.
